Hello, I’m Neil Deavall-Locke, a freelance graphic designer based near Cardiff, South Wales. After working for over 15 years for creative agencies, I made the jump in 2018 to work for myself as a freelancer.
Deavall Design is an independent design studio specialising in logo design, branding, web design and design for print. I work with SMEs across the UK. I can also work with you on Zoom, Teams or Skype to have a face-to-face video meeting.

Discovery
My services are ideal for small and medium-sized businesses looking to improve the quality of their communications. I can partner with you to help you explore creative possibilities.
Whatever the project, whether it be a refresh of your branding, or a a brand-new website design, I begin the creative process by meeting with you either in person, or through email/phone call.
This foundation phase helps me to learn all about your company, its values and the moving parts of your business or service.
Research
I will continue my own research to understand more about your market, your competitors and where we can add value to the design.
Brief
From everything I’ve learnt, a project brief will be produced detailing the aims and goals of the project. This will help guide the next phase of idea generation.
Naming / Initial Ideas
If you are a startup company, and you are still deciding your name of your brand, it is important to claim your brand. Reserve your company or brand name on as many social media platforms as possible. Even if you don’t intend to use it just yet, you can still reserve it and leave a message directing visitors back to your website or active social media pages.
You can use Namecheckr to help identify and claim the various social media and other sites.
When you are ready for me to begin I will propose initial ideas for your new logo, your corporate identity refresh, graphic design requirements, or website design.
Feedback
I work with you to develop the things you like, and amend and adjust those you don’t like accordingly, until you are 100% satisfied with your design.
Proposed Final Designs
The final stage after your approval is providing the designed assets in formats that are the most appropriate for you to use.
