I was commissioned to create an updated set of logo designs for the SME Certification Centre – who specialise in making sustainability certification cheaper and easier for SMEs.
The aim was to design branding for an innovative and disruptive management systems certification scheme – a challenger brand to established standards. This is specifically designed for SMEs and voluntary sector organisations.
I worked with the centre to design a concept that incorporated an official brand mark in the form of a tick; an effective way of creating a distinct and memorable identity.
The logo had to be flexible enough to allow upcoming accreditations to be easily added and so had to be designed with this in mind.
Among the uses of the chosen logo are marketing packs, certificates and verified logos, online and exhibition graphics, and infographics. Therefore, it had to be simple and clearly visible.
The centre’s business model included the development of an online accreditation toolkit which enabled remote assessment. I worked with the centre’s development team to design a clear and simple to use toolkit, that responsively resized on mobile, tablet and desktop.
I designed stationery including business cards which were printed on sustainably sourced card.

Flyers and roll-up banners were designed to help launch the SME Standards for Sustainability and raise awareness of the certification scheme.
